Brown, a 1995 graduate of Steilacoom High in south Pierce County, was one of 16 contestants in the Australian edition of the CBS "reality" game show filmed in a desolate location in the northeastern part of that country.

Brown, a Harvard University law student, had been competing for the million-dollar first prize.

If you missed the show Thursday, here are the essential developments:

Who's Left: Amber, Colby, Elisabeth, Keith, Rodger, Tina.

Immunity Challenge: Building a fire, then trying to light a fuse by filling up a counterweight of water. Colby wins.

Grasshopper Wranglin': Desperate for food, the survivors hunt grasshoppers. Their rice supply dangerously low and the contestants getting lethargic, host Jeff Probst brought in more rice - but took their tarpaulins in return.

Reward Challenge: Each contestant is given $500 Australian for an auction of food items. Rodger pays $320 for a cheeseburger.

Reward Bites Back: Most of the contestants who win food get sick from it.

Quote: "You had plenty of stuff. If rationed properly, you had plenty of rice." - Jeff Probst, scolding contestants for wasting food.

Product Placement: A certain corn chip company gets another advantageous plug when Nick pays $60 to eat four of them with a little salsa.

Nielsen ranking last week: First place, with an estimated 28.1 million viewers.
