Near Northwest
Funky Fremont is perhaps one of the better-known communities in this area, famous for the huge troll under the Aurora Bridge, stone-faced statues whose outfits change regularly and a hip arts community. But the area also is home to some of Seattle's more established middle-class neighborhoods, including close-in Ballard, Crown Hill and Phinney Ridge. Stretching beyond the city into suburban Shoreline, this region also has upscale neighborhoods and some great views.
