A 25-year-old Bellevue man of eastern Indian descent who was walking home late at night was assaulted by a driver who asked where he was from and yelled obscenities, police said yesterday.
The driver and a passenger motioned the man over to their vehicle between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 15400 block of Northup Way. The driver punched him twice in the face and upper body. People who believe they are being targeted because of their ethnic background after last month's terrorist attacks are urged to report problems to police. Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call Bellevue police at 425-452-6917.
