Municipal League releases candidate ratings

The Municipal League of King County, a non-partisan civic group committed to government accountability, yesterday announced its ratings of the qualifications of 140 candidates in 60 local elections.

The league has rated candidates in Seattle since 1911, based on careful evaluation of four criteria: involvement, effectiveness, character and knowledge, with incumbents often given credit or criticism for prior public service.

Here are ratings in contests involving Republican, Democrat and Libertarian candidates on the Sept. 18 primary ballot:
